Last weekend I photographed Chip Ivie's White Party VI. It's an annual celebration of the end of summer where Chip and 100 of his closest friends all wear white and dance the night away.
Chip's downtown loft is easy to envy. With it's exposed beams and giant windows, it's truly a beautiful place for a fun HOTlanta (sorry, had to) party. As soon as I walked in the energy hit me. Everyone was so happy to be there, chatting with friends, old and new. The music was loud, the drinks were cold, and the laughter was plentiful. I was working but it didn't matter. I still had a fabulous time and I'm so glad I got to document the night for Chip and his friends and Atlanta neighbors.
Photographing a dance floor isn't easy but man, is it fun! You really have to keep watch and anticipate what people are going to do. It's a challenge I'm loving. Of course there's a dance floor at just about every wedding reception so I've loved having an outside view of guests letting loose and feeling the music with loved ones. This party was just like a wedding reception except EVERYONE was wearing white. I love themed parties so I was stoked when Chip contacted me about photography for this event.
Here are a few of the highlights from the event:
